Understanding Your Total Hoof Care Needs

Mission Statement:

I strive to achieve the highest levels of excellence in all equine disciplines and performance needs. I provide an excellent services and custom based care for each horse’s specific conformation and performance needs through balanced trims, and appropriate corrective care measures that will promote and optimal hoof health and structure along with proper joint, tendon support and health. My mission is to provide the highest quality farrier care equally to all performance, recreational, and family horses in the Northern GA and surrounding areas. I truly believes in horsemanship to the core of its values, and integrates that with every interaction of providing quality care to the four legged clients,  thus, providing a less stressed interaction, and the horse having a more positive experience during and after their hoof care.

Background

My earliest interactions with horses started when I was just 6 years old. When I turned 11 years old, I started doing chores for my aunt, Lisa Sharer at Sharer Equestrian Stable. My parents did not have the financial means to pay for equine lessons, but this did not stop my drive to partake in my passion. I worked for my Aunt in trade for riding lessons to teach me to properly ride. Lisa quickly built a foundation of equine practice that I present in every encounter every day. I believe that Classical Horsemanship, and the theory /practices, cannot be exclusively the idea of one person. “Classical Horsemanship develops from spending time with horses and learning them. The horses are individuals and they will tell you what does and doesn’t work.”

History

I was trained to be a renowned show/event horse trainer and show-ring handler for Lisa Sharer Equestrian Stables, Verona, WI. Lisa Sharer Equestrian Stables was a renowned producer of some of the top USEF National Sport Horses and Top AAHA, Arabian National Sport Horse champions. This is where I meet and work with Jim Laufenberg, Retired Farrier & Veteran. Jim taught me my basics of farrier craft back when I was 15. Between Jim and Lisa, I started doing busy work trimming younger horses, pulling and trimming off season horses, etc. They built my base discipline. I feel we are always learning, and what we learn is only added to the base functions that makes are individual craftsmanship. Everyone I work with or talk with becomes and influential aspect that’s builds/defines the MG Farrier Service brand.

I enlisted in the military in 2005, and I was medically retired in 2010. I used my GI-bill to achieve my Bachelor of Science in Business management in 2012 and then my Master’s in Business Administration in 2015. I graduated at the top 10% of both of my classes, at Park University, Parkville MO.

Bracing my deep love for horses, along with my expertise in horsemanship, farrier, and blacksmithing crafts, I strive to provide the highest standard and effective care to our equine partners.
